Special Sizes
We are regularly asked for special sized Beds and Mattresses to fit particular circumstances.
When we talk about the size of a bed we actually mean the size of the Mattress, not the size of any Bed Frame surrounding the mattress. The outer dimensions of any Bed Frame you intend to use can determine which mattress size can be fitted into your room.
Divan Beds usually have the same size base and mattress which make these the ideal style of bed to fit into tight spaces as they do not require any extra space around the sleeping surface - the mattress. This means you can place the largest size of mattress in your room when placing it on a divan base.
The most common Mattress sizes found in the UK are as follows...
"Queen size" is a name applied to 5ft beds in many areas of the World including USA and Austrailia. Some UK Bed Companies and Linen suppliers also use this name "Queen Size" to describe a 5ft bed but it is becomming increasingly rare.
In UK we normally call the 5' x 6'6" size a "King Size" and when you buy King Size sheets or bed linen you will usually be buying 5ft x 6ft 6ins (150 x 200cm) sized linens unless they are imported into the UK.
We can offer certain bespoke Beds and mattresses with the following less common sizes as "to Order" sizes often with normal manufacturing and delivery times.
